A New Direction: An Update | Articulate in transition

Articulate in transition - an update

In July this year Articulate announced that its current board would step down at the end of the year and called for an open meeting to see if there were a new group or individuals who were interested to take over the space to either to continue Articulate’s mission, or to set up a new art related project.

This met with a very positive response and over several meetings a group emerged who were interested in continuing Articulate’s mission. The group have been meeting regularly and are gradually taking on various roles with the support of the current board, who continue to be active members. The plan is that a new board will establish itself and take over full responsibility for the running of the space from mid February 2022. The current board is providing guidance until Easter 2022.

The new group includes,
Belinda Yee, Dell Walker, Jack Poppert, Jennifer Chua, John Tonkin, Kate McGuinness, Sarah Woodward, and WeiZen Ho

The shows that were due to take place during the lockdown period are being rescheduled and will continue into next year. These shows are predominantly in the first part of the year. Articulate will do a callout for proposals when the current program, and new board has settled into place. Articulate continues to be open to receiving proposals -the next closing date will be advertised on the home page.

Articulate will reopen its doors to the public from the 11th October, in line with NSW government Covid-safe regulations. There will be an opportunity for a final showing of the project space project Decade show, psp.doc, which had a brief exposure in June and remained in situ following the sudden lockdown. Further details of this, and the coming shows of Steven Fasan (Back Room) and Eunjoo Jang (Articulate Upstairs), will be advertised shortly.

We look forward to opening our doors and seeing you all again very soon.
