UNTITLED-SITE/NONSITE is an exhibition of artwork by Elizabeth Day, Bronia Iwanczak, Noelene Lucas and RoseAnn McGreevy.
Major American conceptual
artist Robert Smithson opened up the site of the gallery significantly in the
60s when he devised the term site/nonsite, an idea that meant that the
'artwork' became a creative field that brought objects within a gallery
into relation with a work produced outside the gallery (as we see with Spiral
Jetty) creating a fold between the two locations. Text and image in
this logic were also coterminous. These four artists' work develops a
conversation with interior and exterior spaces as well as a shared conversation
encompassing the Articulate gallery space.
